Crime watch: he needed a sign

On Friday, May 20 at 10:23 a.m.

Officers arrived at the 1400 block of 2nd Street in response to an assault with a deadly weapon. Upon arrival, officers spoke to the victim, who happened to be a Downtown Santa Monica Ambassador, and noticed he had an injury on his finger. The victim stated that he had been dispatched to the area due to the subject drinking in public. The Ambassador observed the subject sitting outside the location, drinking and masturbating in public. When the Ambassador asked him to vacate the property, the subject to became belligerent. The subject then picked up an A-frame sign and attempted to throw it at the Ambassador, who blocked it with his bike and sustained the injury to his hand. The subject fled the scene, Officers located Vicente Carlos shortly after and arrested him for Assault with a Deadly Weapon.
