Crime watch: Target run goes bad

On August 26 at 1:30 p.m.

Officers noticed a female subject, later identified as Anyaa Booker laying down on the sidewalk near the entrance to the Vans store on Broadway. Booker was wearing only one shoe and bags were strewn about. Officers notice new items from Target were in the bags. Officers approached Booker and offered medical assistance which she declined. During a search, officers located drug paraphernalia and placed Booker under arrest. She then became irate and spat at an officer. She was transported to the Santa Monica Jail where she was booked for a parole violation, spitting on a police officer and possession of drug paraphernalia.
