Two SMPD uniformed civilian personnel witnessed Christopher Berry, a 51-year-old male from Los Angeles, exiting a clothing store on the 3rd Street Promenade with a large amount of clothing with the tags still attached. Sworn officers responded to the location and determined that over $500 in items were stolen from the store. Berry was charged with acting as an agent for others to steal merchandise and was issued a citation with a future court appearance scheduled for October 20, 2023.
