Officers responded to Vons on the 1300 block of Wilshire, regarding a subject taking items and fighting with employees. Police spotted a subject matching the description of the suspect and detained him. The suspect had several items he had taken from Vons on his person. Officers further found a machete hidden in the waist of the suspect’s pants. After speaking to some of the employees at Vons, Officers learned that the suspect had swung his arms in an attempt to hit an employee that had asked him to return the stolen items and had threatened the employee. Hector Raul Cano was placed under arrest for 211PC (Estes robbery) and 21310PC (possession of a dirk or dagger).
