SMPD Officers responded to a call about a stolen bike on the 2900 block of Neilson Way. The victim described the bike to Officers and explained that building security had provided him with surveillance video of the suspect as he was stealing the bike. The following day, the victim contacted SMPD and stated he had found his bike on sale on Offer Up and provided details that were unique to the bike, including a serial number. The Officers contacted the seller on Offer Up and arranged a meeting to purchase the bike. Upon arriving at the meeting location, additional units showed up and apprehended Nicholas Francisco Bermudez for 496(a) PC - Receiving stolen property. Bermudez was later cited and released, and the victim was able to retrieve his property.
