On Thursday, October 1, at approximately 10:16 a.m.

An SMPD Officer and a DMH Clinician were dispatched to a home on the 3000 block of 16th St. regarding a call about a battery. Dispatchers reported that the Victim had entered the unoccupied home to paint and found the Suspect already inside. The Suspect pretended to live in the home and pushed the Victim to the ground. Upon arrival, Officers spoke to the Victim and the actual homeowner, who had arrived shortly after. The homeowner reported that about $4,000 worth of property had been missing. Officers located the Suspect and arrested Julya Maree Jones on a 242 PC- Battery and a 459 PC- Burglary.
