On July 9 at approximately 7:38 p.m.
An officer responded to Bloomingdales (315 Colorado) in regards to a suspect being detained for a theft investigation. While speaking to an Asset Protection Supervisor, the officer learned the suspect took a suitcase and was seen placing unpaid merchandise into the suitcase. Once the suspect exited the store failing to pay for the items, he was contacted and detained by loss prevention employees. The stolen suitcase was recovered and the suitcase along with the items inside of it amounted to $4,159.30. Leandro Paceli-Monteiro, 36, was arrested for grand theft.
