SMPD officers responded to a radio call for a vehicle burglary in progress near the 1000 block of 2nd Street. The reporting party stated that she was alerted to a suspect actively attempting to break into her vehicle by the sounding of her car alarm. The window of her Jeep Grand Cherokee had been shattered. Officers detained two suspects one block away from the call location matching the description of the offenders. The victim was able to identify the suspects during a field show-up. Two juvenile suspects were placed under arrest for 459pc- Burglary with one suspect later released to the Department of Child and Family Services and the second to his mother.
