On June 20 at approximately 5:23 p.m.
A Community Service Officer responded to 380 Santa Monica Pier (Pacific Park) for a theft report. The suspect was seen on surveillance inside the administrative office at Pacific Park. While in the office, the suspect took a bag containing a laptop and other items totaling $1,500. The suspect exited the office with the bag out of sight. The surveillance video was reviewed by a Detective who recognized the suspect and issued a warrant. On July 9, the suspect was arrested by LAPD. Johnny Mercado, 28, was arrested for grand theft.
