Officers responded to 2000 block of 14th Street to handle roommates who were arguing. The roommates had to be separated by officers responding to the call. During the fight, one of the roommates bit the other on the arm after being placed in a chokehold. One of the roommates grabbed a knife but did not use it. The fighting parties were taken into custody without incident. Deshean Lamarr Villalpando, 28, from Santa Monica, was arrested for assault with a deadly weapon, not a firearm. Bail was set at $30,000. Paul Franchitti, 31, from Santa Monica, was arrested for battery. Bail was set at $20,000.
