On August 6, at approximately 9:40 p.m.
Officers responded to the 7-11 located at 630 Wilshire for a radio call involving unknown trouble. Upon arrival officers found that the suspect had been fighting with security at the store. The suspect produced a folding knife with the blade exposed. The suspect made slashing motion towards the security officer. The security officer was able to detain the suspect until the police arrived and took him into custody. The suspect was in possession of a hypodermic needle and admitted to being under the influence of methamphetamine. Jacques Davon Hillsman, 27, homeless, was arrested for assault with a deadly weapon, and possession of a needle. Bail was set at $30,000.
