The Santa Monica Daily Press is the 10th largest daily newspaper in the region, according to the Los Angeles Business Journal.

The journal ranked dailies based on circulation. The Daily Press’ daily circulation was listed at 17,000, putting the paper ahead of the Whittier Daily News, Glendale News Press and the Antelope Valley Press.

The information was included in the journal’s 2012 Book of Lists, which includes categories like the largest airlines, auto dealers, minority-owned businesses and venture capital firms.

“It’s an honor to be in the company of these publications,” said Ross Furukawa, publisher of the Daily Press.

The Los Angeles Times received the top ranking with a circulation of 572,998. It was followed by the Investor’s Business Daily, La Opinión, the Daily News and the Long Beach Press-Telegram.

The Daily Press was founded in 2001 and covers the Santa Monica community, including City Hall, the Santa Monica-Malibu Unified School District, and Santa Monica College, along with local businesses, sports, the arts and environment.
