Destroying the peace

If You Close It, They Will Come.
Published:

It’s that time of year again- leaf blowers and chainsaws dominating the wee hours -no, the entirety of society. Forget children napping or actors auditioning from home needing a moment of silence to record their hundred and fiftieth commercial audition. Just watch (with earplugs and noise canceling headsets that don’t work) as one person dominates an entire block for twenty minutes by aimlessly swinging one limp illegal gas powered leaf blower at the first leaf that dared to fall this season. The ones that dangle and waggle their raging phallic machines while simultaneously checking cell phones and crop dusting freshly washed cars and newly swept walkways are the best. Forget clean windows or outdoor tables recently wiped off. Forget birds in their nests or delicate bugs on the ground. Brooms and rakes no longer exist apparently and gardeners now have free rein to blow your meditation and cultivated peace into another person’s yard for their leaf blower to start over with for tomorrow morning”s hell.  Long gone Is the delicacy of the moment… the pride in my nursery ancestors of nurturing a plant with subtlety- now we must all survive this bullshit endless onslaught. Where Is the Queen of Hearts??? The gardeners are running the asylum.

Frustrated  Residents get no peace and quiet from daily leaf blowers.

They should not be allowed to start until after 10 am and not go

Beyond 4 pm.

No more Saturdays for leaf blowers or chainsaws.

Residents pay the highest city taxes and we REQUEST  some protections.

Please assist with how we can pass new law on this matter of peace & quiet at home.

Thank you.
