Nearly 450 restaurants across Los Angeles are participating in the Summer 2025 edition of Dine LA Restaurant Week, running July 25 through Aug. 8, marking significant growth for the biannual culinary event that launched with just 140 establishments in 2008.
The two-week promotion invites diners to sample prix-fixe menus at special rates, with more than 50 Santa Monica restaurants showcasing the coastal city's diverse culinary landscape from beachfront fine dining to casual international fare.
"Santa Monica's culinary landscape is a true standout, with over 400 restaurants across the city welcoming locals and travelers with warm hospitality, vibrant flavors and creative techniques," said Misti Kerns, president and CEO of Santa Monica Travel & Tourism. "Dine LA restaurant week is the perfect time to enjoy a sampling of our beachside city's dining landscape, with both legacy restaurants and modern eateries."
Since its inception by the Los Angeles Tourism & Convention Board in January 2008, Dine LA has evolved into one of the country's largest restaurant week events. The inaugural edition reportedly increased participating restaurants' business by an average of 25 percent, demonstrating the program's economic impact on the local dining industry.
“Dine LA is more than just a celebration of LA’s food, it’s a moment to support the chefs, restaurateurs, and teams who continue to shape the city’s culinary culture,” said Stacey Sun, Executive Director of Dine LA. “Restaurants across Los Angeles have shown incredible resilience in recent years, and this program offers a meaningful way for locals and visitors alike to show up, dine out, and rediscover what makes our dining scene so special.”
Participating venues offer multi-course lunch and dinner menus at standardized price tiers ranging from $15 to $65 and above per person, making upscale dining more accessible to a broader audience. The fixed pricing allows diners to experience high-end restaurants at reduced costs compared to regular à la carte menus.
Santa Monica's robust participation ranges from Michelin-starred venues to casual beachside eateries. The lineup spans multiple cuisines and price points, offering everything from Mediterranean and Indian fare to traditional steakhouses and fresh seafood.
Among the notable Santa Monica participants is 1 Pico, the oceanfront restaurant at Shutters on the Beach. Under Chef Vittorio Lucariello, the establishment draws inspiration from Neapolitan cuisine while incorporating fresh coastal ingredients. The restaurant's $65 prix-fixe dinner menu features dishes such as bruschetta di calamaretti with baby calamari and cherry tomatoes, cacio e pepe with sausage, and branzino with preserved lemon-herb gremolata, alongside dessert options including warm chocolate cake and classic tiramisu.
Fitoor, located on Ocean Avenue, represents the event's international diversity with its fire-based Indian cooking. The restaurant offers both lunch ($45) and dinner ($65) three-course menus during Dine LA. Recommended combinations include the scored Open Fire Chicken Kebab, Alleppey Fish Curry, and Chocolate Nemesis Dessert.
Terrazza at Hotel Casa del Mar has lunch and dinner offerings at $45 or $70 and the Patio has its own menu for $45.
On Main Street, Papille Gustative has a $35 lunch menu and $45 dinner offering. In DTSM, both BOA and Sushi Roku will have special menu offerings.
The event showcases Santa Monica's coastal dining advantages, with numerous seafood-focused establishments participating, including Blue Plate Oysterette, Luke's Lobster, Edgemar Restaurant & Lounge, and The Lobster, an iconic restaurant overlooking Santa Monica Pier.
Fine dining landmarks also feature prominently, with Mélisse, Santa Monica's two-Michelin-starred French restaurant, offering upscale multi-course dinner menus at the premium price tier. High-end offerings including Fia Steak and Brazilian-style Fogo de Chão who are presenting dinner menus typically priced at $65 and above.
For budget-conscious diners, casual establishments such as The Whaler, Socalo, Tiato Kitchen, and UOVO offer lunch menus starting around $25, with dinner specials in the $35-$55 range.
Several Santa Monica hotels are enhancing the experience with "Dine + Stay" packages, allowing guests to combine Restaurant Week meals with overnight accommodations. Participating hotel restaurants include 1 Pico at Shutters on the Beach, The Penthouse at The Huntley Hotel, Soko Sushi at the Fairmont Miramar Hotel, and Palma at the Santa Monica Proper Hotel.
The global cuisine representation includes Chinois on Main (Wolfgang Puck's Asian-French fusion bistro), Solidarity Restaurant (Polish and Eastern European fare), and Orla by Michael Mina (Mediterranean cuisine at the Regent Santa Monica Beach hotel).
Dine LA operates twice yearly, typically in winter and summer, with each edition running approximately 12-15 consecutive days spanning two weekends. No tickets or passes are required; diners simply make reservations at participating restaurants and request the Dine LA menu.
