Crews began implementing improvements in downtown Santa Monica this week as part of a $60 million revitalization effort. The work includes pruning historic Ficus trees along six blocks, planting 37 new trees and power washing five public parking structures in the shopping and dining district.
The improvements are part of the two-year Realignment Plan approved by the Santa Monica City Council last month. The initiative aims to enhance street conditions, safety and business support in the coastal community. City officials said the plan is designed to re-establish Santa Monica as a safe, clean and vibrant destination for residents, workers and visitors.Additional information is available at santamonica.gov.
