# DP In search of medical volunteers

The Santa Monica-UCLA Medical Center and Orthopaedic Hospital seeks adults and teens who can spend at least four hours each week helping the community by volunteering at the medical center. Volunteers are needed in virtually all areas of the 279-bed medical center, including the admissions office, emergency center, gift shop, information desk, surgery waiting area and nursing units.

The medical center also is seeking more pet-trainer teams to participate in its Pet-Assisted Therapy program. Additionally, there are numerous volunteer opportunities at the medical center’s sister facility, UCLA Medical Center, in Westwood.

For reservations or more information about volunteer opportunities, call (310) 319-3580 for Santa Monica or (310) 825-6001 for Westwood. To learn more about volunteer opportunities at both campuses, attend a free open house on the following dates: Feb. 23, from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.; March 14, from 10 a.m. to noon; or April 26, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.
