Officers responded to the area of 500 block of Broadway to investigate a call of a woman hiding between a trash can and gas meter using narcotics. Officers arrived in the area and found a woman matching the description of the suspect crouching down underneath gas meters in the alley. She had a glass pipe in her mouth commonly used to inject narcotics. Officers observed her inhaling from the glass pipe. The suspect stopped smoking and then urinated where she was standing. Officers took the woman into custody without incident. Crystal Alexandra Carera, 29, homeless, was arrested for possession of smoking paraphernalia and urinating in public. Bail was set at $500.
