To Mr. Steve the Mailman Breen (“Why so serious,” page 4, July 23), and anyone who thinks like him, Barack Obama has a white mother and a black father, but I am sure that he has experienced racism and probably a lot more than I have, and I have experience in this country. I can’t help but have the utmost respect for the man for trying his best to save a country that’s headed straight to hell and putting his and his family’s life on the line at the same time. God knows he has to love this country. There probably isn’t a whole lot of men or women of color who would take such a position. I wouldn’t. As for those big boy panties that you mentioned, just because the current administration wore them does-n’t mean that he has to. As for the costume, there are a lot of people that can imagine John McCain and George Bush, Cheney, wearing funny costumes and hoods. As for the chicken, a real man can eat his chicken any darn way he pleases.
