The work of artist Lauren S. Henry will be featured at the James Gray Gallery (www.jamesgraygallery.com) during the anniversary of Bergamot Station beginning Sept. 8 and continuing through Oct. 7\. Bergamot Station (www.bergamotstation.com) is Southern California's largest art gallery complex and cultural center, located on eight acres in the heart of Santa Monica.

James Gray Gallery will be hosting an opening night reception on Sept. 8, when new artists are introduced in many of Bergamot Station’s galleries.

Lauren S. Henry is the founder of With a Brush of Love (www.brushoflove.com), a company that specializes in environmental design for special needs children, primarily those with autism spectrum disorder. Her art focuses on the utilization of color and pattern to elicit a specific emotional response. Henry plans to donate a portion of the proceeds from the gallery event to Cure Autism Now/Autism Speaks.

Henry hopes that this event will help raise awareness of the benefits of creating the appropriate environment for special needs children, which primarily includes color and design but can also incorporate tactile and aural components. With a Brush of Love uses all these elements to improve the emotional well being of special needs children, which in turn assists in their learning, communication and emotional expression.
