City Hall has been criticized of late for a plan to remove 544 ficus trees on Second and Fourteenth streets and use the wood to build homes for the homeless. Environmentalists believe removing the trees would harm air quality while sending the wrong message to those who are living on the streets. So this week’s Q-Line question asks: Should City Hall move forward with the plan, or instead add fluoride to the water they use on the ficus trees to buffer Santa Monica Airport residents from jet pollution?
