For more than 20 years, through the generosity of CEO Joan Payden, the staff of Payden & Rygel has participated in procuring essential resources and Christmas gifts for St. Joseph Center clients at holiday time. This year was no exception. On Dec. 6, 22 of the firm’s 150 employees participated in a charitable shopping spree that benefited more than 1,000 homeless and low-income persons, providing food, household items, clothing, baby supplies, games and toys.

Payden & Rygel is a global investment management firm headquartered in Los Angeles with offices in London and Frankfurt.

“Thanks to the caring and generous spirit of Payden & Rygel, countless men, women, and children facing severe deprivations are blessed this season with gifts and substantial food for their holiday needs,” says Rhonda Meister, the center’s executive director. “It was a delight to see the eagerness of their staff members, as they came in from their shopping expedition and unloaded the trucks that were filled to capacity.”

St. Joseph Center assists more than 7,000 working poor and homeless adults and children, veterans, and seniors each year to achieve self-sufficiency through food distributions, child care, mentoring, and job training.
