More than 25 Westside eateries will take to the great outdoors during the Great Tastes of Brentwood on Sunday, Oct. 12 from noon to 5 p.m.

Now in its 16th year, it is reportedly West Los Angeles’ favorite food festival, where people can sample tastes from popular restaurants and discover some new favorites.

The food booths and entertainment will line a portion of San Vicente Boulevard, between Bringham and Darlington, which will be closed to traffic.

The afternoon will feature a silent auction for travel and entertainment offerings, children’s activities and live entertainment.

There also will be a margarita bar, wine tastings and a champagne “Diamond Drop” with a chance to win a real diamond from Universal Jewelers in Marina del Rey.

The proceeds from the event will benefit local schools within the Palisades Charter Schools Foundation and Brentwood Green, a public park located in the Brentwood Science Magnet School.

Among the participants in this year’s event: Baja Fresh, Bel Air Bar & Grill, Brentwood Restaurant, California Pasta, Casa Antigua, Chin Chin, Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf, Coral Tree Café, Daily Grill, El Dorado Cantina, Mr. Cecil’s Ribs, Foodies, Hamburger Hamlet, Louise’s Trattoria, Luxe Hotel Sunset Boulevard-Bel Air, Maria’s Cucina, Tangdong, San Gennaro, Koo Koo Roo and McKesson Water Products.

Tastings range from $2 to $6 and admission is free. For more information, call Carole Schiffer at (310) 442-1384 or visit the Web site at www.GreatTastesOfBrentwood.com.
