# Fresh food spot cuts into community with ceremony

Santa Monica’s freshest food fare was on display Feb. 28, as the Santa Monica Chamber of Commerce welcomed [Rabano Handcrafted Food & Drinks](https://www.rabano.co/?ref=smdp.com) to the community with a [ribbon cutting](https://smdp.com/2023/12/21/now-open-3/?ref=smdp.com) ceremony.

This is the restaurant’s second location alongside a spot in Hermosa Beach, and everything is made with locally sourced ingredients. The company also partners with sustainable local farms and uses compostable packaging. Food items include a bevy of salads, burritos, sandwiches, burgers and bowls.

On the drink side, Rabano has a selection of milk teas, shaken iced teas, fruit teas and frosty lattes. Joining the Chamber and Rabano owner Fernando Chong was Santa Monica Mayor Phil Brock, who wished prosperity on the new location.
