# Council to award $748,000 LNG fueling station maintenance contract to Northstar

The Liquid Compressed Natural Gas station which fuels all of the Big Blue Buses that run on LNG will be maintained by Northstar.

The operator won a $748,000 bid to maintain and repair parts for the fueling station that supplies approximately two million gallons to the 100 Big Blue Buses that run on LNG.

In addition to awarding the winning bid to Northstar, the council will also be asked to extend a contract with Converse Consultant to provide more geotechnical work for the new Big Blue Bus Campus.

“Geotechnical services are required to ensure that soil conditions meet recommendations that are outlined in the Geotechnical Report,” according to the staff report.

The consultant recently discovered large amounts of undocumented fill and other hazardous material. The contract will be expanded by $109,000.
