# Funding city’s development future

Two consultants who assist City Hall with the update of the Land Use and Circulation Element could be getting contract extensions.

City planners intend to request more funding be added to the existing contracts with the firm of Raimi + Associates and The Odermatt Group in order to help with the general plan in the home stretch. The LUCE, which will be presented to the Planning Commission in the next few months, is a document that will outline the development future of the city.

Raimi + Associates is currently responsible for assisting staff in project management, including developing materials and presentations for LUCE. Due to vacancies in several staffing positions, the firm’s services will be needed through the adoption of the plan. If approved, the firm will get an additional $150,000, bringing its contract to a total $215,000.

The Odermatt Group, whose services include developing LUCE policy strategies, will be tasked with lending its expertise in matters related to the Exposition Light Rail project and how it would fold in with the general plan. The firm could receive an extra $160,000, for a total contract of $405,000.
