It’s time for Santa Monica’s seniors to put on their dancing shoes. The 27th annual senior prom will be held on March 20 at the Santa Monica Civic Auditorium, which will be a semi-formal dance for more than 1,000 senior citizens.

The cities of Santa Monica, Beverly Hills, Culver City and Torrance are hosting the Mardi Gras-themed party. The auditorium will be transformed into a Mardi Gras celebration, complete with live entertainment from the 18-piece Melody Masters Big Band, refreshments and prizes. This is the most talked about event of the year for Westside seniors, city officials said.

The event will take place from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. The auditorium is located at 1855 Main St., next to the courthouse and City Hall. There is no cost to attend the event and parking is free. For more information, call (310) 458-8644.
