The Gourmandise School at Santa Monica Place will offer Kitchen Club, a new cooking series for kids and teens ages 8-18, running Mondays from Oct. 13 through Nov. 17. The classes will take place from 4pm - 6pm.
The afterschool program teaches real-world kitchen skills in a hands-on environment. Each week introduces a new theme, including Bake Sale Bests, Breakfast Pastries, Halloween Treats and French Macarons. Students work in pairs to practice cooking basics, build confidence and create recipes from scratch before taking their creations home.
The program aims to provide a creative and confidence-building outlet that incorporates math, science and teamwork skills beyond traditional classroom learning.
The school also offers seasonal Parent & Child classes featuring Halloween Cookies, Thanksgiving Meal and Holiday Cookies for family bonding opportunities.
