The organization Concerned Residents Against Airport Pollution (CRAAP) has launched a new website it says will be an open forum for discussion about the future of Santa Monica Airport.

Called “SMO 2015” and accessible at www.smo2015.com, the site will be “objective and invites input from pilots, residents, developers, environmentalists, planners and government officials, as well as other stakeholders,” according to a press release from CRAAP Director, Martin Rubin.

The website name refers to the year when a 1984 agreement between City Hall and the FAA expires, possibly allowing Santa Monica to push for changes at the airport.

City Hall recently announced RAND Corp. will conduct a study of the airport’s impacts intended to inform a series of public meetings being planned to discuss community goals for SMO.

Rubin said the new website “will be complementary to the city’s process and further help draw community interest and involvement.”
