The Board of Directors and staff of the California Heritage Museum will hold its 16th annual Heritage Award dinner on Nov. 14\. Guests attending the gala fundraising event will view the Heritage Museum’s current exhibition — “Santa Catalina: In All the World No Trip Like This!” — during an evening of fine cuisine hosted by the Victorian/Duck-Duck Mousse, located adjacent to the museum. A silent auction featuring hotel accommodations, dinner gift certificates from restaurants, fine art, wine, merchandise and other services will also take place. Jazz entertainment will conclude the event.

One of this year’s community honorees is Joe Phelps, chief executive officer of The Phelps Group. Phelps is one of the pioneering innovators of integrated marketing communications. He has succeeded in his realistic vision by abolishing agency departments and organizing the agency’s specialists around their clients in cross-functional, self-directional teams.

Phelps is also a past board president of the California Heritage Museum, and currently serves on the museum’s Advisory Board. He is on the Board of Directors with the Foundation for the Junior Blind, and recently authored “Pyramids are Tombs,” a book that outlines a better way to organize and maximize human potential.

Award dinner guests will receive a signed and numbered, limited edition Iris print by Venice artist D.J. Hall. The print is being produced by Duganne Ateliers, located in Santa Monica. D.J. Hall is an accomplished artist who has held solo shows at the O.K. Harris gallery in New York since 1980, has work exhibited throughout the U.S., Europe and Japan, and currently teaches for the Foundation program at the Otis College of Art and Design.

James T. Butts, Jr., Santa Monica’s Chief of Police, will also be honored. Tickets to the gala event are $300 per couple — two dinners and one print, and $200 per single ticket — one dinner and one print. For additional information or reservations, contact the museum staff at (310) 392-853\. The museum is located at 2612 Main St.
