*By Gail Myers Sunset Park*

As a former board member of Friends of Sunset Park, I can only laugh at J. Bates' (picture blacked out, no complete name and no e-mail listed) (July 22, page 5, “Banning jets is about politics, not public safety”) caricature of this civic-minded, intelligent, peace-loving, environmentally friendly group as having some evil agenda (God forbid we should have less noise, more safety, less pollution).

He fails to mention why he thinks this group would even want to get rid of this airport except for some vague reason about the destruction of our historic airport. His figures are skewed and his anonymity in the article bespeaks more of his own hidden agenda than that of this neighborhood association. I wonder if he is Arnold's pilot?
