Santa Monica-based teams had very different nights on Friday.

Santa Monica High School opened the season with a 35-0 win over Leuzinger at Santa Monica College's Corsair Field, but the other 11-main team in town didn't fare as well.

St. Monica, coming off a big win over Animo Leadership last week, fell to West Covina South Hills, 61-0.
