LOSANGELES — A man charged with attempted murder in the stabbings of three homeless people has failed to appear for his arraignment, and a judge has cited medical reasons.

Superior Court Judge Shelly Torrealaba did not elaborate in court Tuesday on Courtney Anthony Robinson's medical condition.

No new court date was scheduled.

Robinson turned himself in Friday night after police appealed to the public for help in locating him.

He is suspected of stabbing three homeless people in the back this month as they were sleeping on the streets of Los Angeles and Santa Monica.

Authorities say the attacker left "death warrants" on his victims.

Santa Barbara police are investigating whether Robinson is linked to two other knife attacks on homeless men in that city.
