It sure is nice to hear that someone is enjoying the Palisades Park, the taxpaying citizens of Santa Monica sure can’t. Not unless you like relaxing next to shopping carts full of trash, vagrants who haven’t seen soap in years, and the dregs of southland chummed up by the likes of Paul Grymkowski, (SMDP, April 12, page 1). “Bring them inside where?” he asks. Well, if these people are your “friends and family” then why don’t you take them to your house in your elite Topanga neighborhood? I’m sure the residents of Topanga Canyon would welcome a couple hundred homeless “friends and family” of Paul’s, right?

There is nothing compassionate or loving about enabling these people to live on the streets. The SMDP describes Mr. Grymkowski as an “entepreneur-turned-humanitarian.” I would describe him a criminal who is breaking the law. It’s a shame this city is too busy with its sign and smoking witch hunts to enforce a law that might make it so the law-abiding people could enjoy the parks once again.
