Crime Watch – Is that a cheesecake in your pants?

On Wednesday, November 25, Officers were dispatched to Vons on the 700 block of Broadway regarding a Robbery suspect. Officers were informed that a few minutes prior to their arrival, an individual had entered the store and attempted to steal merchandise by placing it in his pants and his backpack. After a store security guard contacted the individual and asked him to return the items, a fight ensued. A second security guard and the store manager were eventually able to take the backpack from the suspect. The suspect demanded his backpack be returned, security agreed on the condition that he return all the merchandise in his pants as well. The suspect removed a cheesecake and a bottle of alcohol from under his pants and took his backpack and left. Officers located Stanley Bernard Harris in a nearby alley and arrested him for 211PC- Robbery (Estes). A records check found that Harris had a No Bail Felony warrant out of Colorado.
