Justin Hartley, star of the CBS drama "Tracker," was spotted at the Bayside Hotel Tuesday afternoon, shooting a scene for the show's fourth season.

The Bayside Hotel, a two-story, motel-style property, is located across the street from Cha Cha Chicken at 2001 Ocean Ave. The star shot a scene on the hotel's second-floor walkway before wrapping for the day at around 2:30 in the afternoon.

The popular network show shot its first three seasons in Vancouver, British Columbia, before moving production to Los Angeles this year with a $48 million state tax credit: the largest relocation credit in the California Film Commission's history. The credit is based on more than $129 million in projected spending in California, and the production is expected to film 176 days in the state while employing 250 crew members and 275 actors, according to the commission.

This follows a [2025 state law that more than doubled California’s annual film tax credit to $750 million](https://www.smdp.com/california-legislature-passes-dollar750-million-film-tax-credit-expansion/), and Santa Monica’s move to bring permitting in-house through [Film Santa Monica](https://filmsantamonica.com/?ref=smdp.com), a city office that handles permits and markets the city as a filming location.

"I'm proud of what we built in Vancouver. I'm also very excited we're bringing 'Tracker' to L.A.," Hartley, who is also an executive producer on the show, said in May when the move was announced, according to TheWrap.

Because each episode in the show's plot moves from town to town, Los Angeles locations stand in for settings around the country, according to Paramount+. It unclear to the SMDP whether Santa Monica would be a named location in the show.

Hartley plays Colter Shaw, a survivalist who travels the country tracking down missing people in exchange for reward money. The series is based on Jeffery Deaver's novel "The Never Game", which debuted in 2019, five years before the premiere of the show on CBS in 2024\. It's second season climbed to the #1 spot for primetime scripted shows in broadcast.

The fourth season premiered Oct. 4, opening with Shaw's search for a teenage boy's missing father, which leads him to a criminal operation at the Port of Los Angeles.

New episodes air Sundays at 9 p.m. on CBS and stream on Paramount+.
