A traffic stop by a Los Angeles County sheriff's deputy saved a baby boy who had stopped breathing.

The Sheriff's Department says a Lakewood station deputy saw a car driving erratically late Monday and pulled it over.

The driver quickly got out while holding a 9-month-old boy.

The deputy quickly determined the baby was unresponsive and put out a radio call about the emergency.

Another deputy arrived and they rushed to Long Beach Memorial Hospital as one deputy performed CPR.

The department says the baby was resuscitated before reaching the hospital, where he was listed in stable condition.

The department says there's no evidence of foul play.
