LA28 announced the production team for the 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games Opening and Closing Ceremonies, led by Emmy Award-winning producer Ben Winston as Executive Producer and Creative Director.
Winston, who produced the show-stopping Paris-to-LA Olympic Handover in 2024, will work alongside veteran Olympic producer Scott Givens as Executive Producer - Production. FulFive, a new entity combining Fulwell Entertainment and FiveCurrents, will produce the ceremonies with Givens and Ryann Lauckner as Co-CEOs.
"We searched the world for partners who could blend artistic vision and flawless execution at the highest level," said Peter Rice, LA28 Head of Ceremonies and Content. "Ben Winston and Scott Givens are two of the most accomplished producers in live entertainment today."
Winston, a 14-time Emmy winner, will build on his Paris-to-LA celebration featuring Tom Cruise, Snoop Dogg, Dr. Dre, Billie Eilish, H.E.R. and Red Hot Chili Peppers. His credits include "The Grammys," "The Late Late Show with James Corden," "Friends: The Reunion," and specials featuring Adele and Elton John.
"The Olympic Games represent the pinnacle of human achievement, and Los Angeles offers a once-in-a-generation opportunity to reimagine what these ceremonies can be," Winston said.
Givens has produced more than 400 major live events across 15 Olympic Games and 63 global ceremonies. He is a recipient of the prestigious Olympic Order from the International Olympic Committee.
The 2028 Olympic Opening Ceremony takes place July 14, 2028, at the LA Memorial Coliseum and 2028 Stadium. The Olympic Closing Ceremony follows July 30, 2028, at the LA Memorial Coliseum. Paralympic ceremonies occur August 15 and August 27, 2028.
