Letter: Don’t worry about the Christians

Published:

Editor:

So Ashley Fisher was "alarmed by the number of people who are under the perception that this country was founded by Christians ("Paying lip service to our forefathers," Letters to the Editor, Sept. 16)."

Really? Alarmed that this country was founded on Judeo-Christian laws and principles? What is so alarming about that and to whom?

I suggest that Fisher and other like alarmists read "Our Sacred Honor" by William Bennet and [President] Lincoln's first inaugural address in 1861 before passing judgment on those great men who founded and preserved our nation. And by the way, Mr. Obama would benefit by reading Thomas Paine's "Entrepreneur's Credo."

So Ashley, don't worry, it's not the Christians you should be alarmed about.
