# Letter: Fruit, not candy

I had a refreshing experience at Whole Foods on 5th and Wilshire. There were two small boxes by the front door and a mother took a banana, peeled it and gave it to her child without going to the cash register. The boxes had a sign that said free fruit for children to encourage healthy habits. Maybe some institutions can stop giving children free suckers.
