Only in the city of Silly Monica will you find a silly council that refuses to make needed repairs to Santa Monica High School, our only high school, and then continue to fund and build a new and already overbudget library on Pico Boulevard when there already is an excellent, existing public library only two short blocks away ("Council stalls Civic, Samohi improvements," Aug. 15).
