Dear Editor
In response to Kevin McKeown’s Letter to the Editor on July 3rd, I’m puzzled by his referring to himself as "Retired Former Mayor."
While it’s true that Kevin served as mayor for two years during his 23 years on the City Council, (2015 and 2020), he didn’t "retire" as mayor.
Instead, he chose to "resign" from the City Council midterm, without any explanation to voters, rather than serve out his four-year term. That makes him a "quitter," not a "retiree."
And while he may disagree with some of the decisions made by current Council members, at least they’ve shown up for the job to which they were elected.
As for decisions being made late at night, I seem to remember more than a few of those during Kevin’s years on the City Council.
