I’m truly sad to see yet another pair of two completely undistinguished, beyond generic, glass and concrete slabs that our city planners seem determined to fill every empty space with in Santa Monica. The only positive thing to be said is that at least they’re not black, a color so out of character with the city, like blackheads, as can be seen by the ones already sprinkled around the city.

I’m sorry to be so harsh, but while other small cities on the sea in California cherish and preserve the character and ambience of their cities, such as Santa Barbara, Ventura, Carmel, Santa Monica planners and developers can’t seem to destroy ours fast enough.

The attempt to be cutting edge with the latest trend, and mostly with ‘no sense of place’ just fails miserably, and yet it seems the planners, and politicians view themselves as being so very ahead of the curb while concerned residents  are simply stuck on the turnip truck, and don’t get it.

This while the city planners who mostly don’t live here, roll off the 10 each day into their ‘paid’ parking garage and then walk across the street to work, for a salary far higher than just about any municipal workers in the state, if not the country.
