
CITYWIDE — Pacifica Christian saw three of its players earn California Interscholastic Federation Southern Section honors, it was announced this week.
Sophomores Kevin Hammer and Zach McMillan were named to the Divsion 7 First Team, while junior Austin Cortina landed on the Second Team.
“It’s a good time for our program,” Head Coach Julian Chavez said. “The coaches recognized the talent, the way they conducted themselves on the field.”
New Roads places pair on CIF-SS team<p>
New Roads baseball had a sophomore selected to the CIF-SS Division 7 First Team in Anthony Carrillo. Senior Max Chilkov collected Second Team honors.
“You couldn’t ask for a better leader in terms of how he conducted himself so to have him recognized is the icing,” Head Coach Sean Brookes said of Chilkov. “And Carrillo was just one of those exceptional talents who puts the work in as well.”
White makes All D5 team<p>
St. Monica senior outfielder Danny White was named to the All CIF-SS Division 5 team this week.
White, who will play at the University of La Verne next season, was also named the MVP of the Camino Real League this season.
Xrds places trio on D6 team<p>
Crossroads’ baseball team earned three spots on the All CIF-SS Division 6 team this week.
Senior pitcher Josh Flyer was named to the first team while senior Jake Berg-Rosenblatt and junior Andres Leyva made the second team.
