Local teams make CIF-SS rankings

CITYWIDE — The boys’ basketball teams from Santa Monica-based St. Monica and Crossroads held on to their top-10 rankings, according to the latest California Interscholastic Federation Southern Section Division 5AA poll released Monday.

CITYWIDE — The boys’ basketball teams from Santa Monica-based St. Monica and Crossroads held on to their top-10 rankings, according to the latest California Interscholastic Federation Southern Section Division 5AA poll released Monday.

Crossroads retained its No. 3 rank, with St. Monica slipping from No. 4 to No. 7.

Next for St. Monica is a Camino Real League game at Mary Star of the Sea on Wednesday. Crossroads hosts Delphic League rival Marshall tonight on campus.

Samohi boys’ soccer ranked No. 3 in D-4

Santa Monica High School’s boys’ soccer team is ranked No. 3 in the latest CIF-SS Division 4 poll.

The Vikings are 5-1-1 this season.

The Vikings travel to Ocean League rival Inglewood on Wednesday. The game is scheduled for 6 p.m.

St. Monica girls move up rankings

St. Monica’s girls’ basketball team has moved from No. 15 to No. 11 in the new CIF-SS Division 5AA poll.

St. Monica is coming off a win over No. 9 Brentwood last week.
