# Los Angeles police chase passes through town

The Los Angeles Police Department arrested a murder suspect in Santa Monica on Wednesday night

The chase began at around 5 p.m. in the San Fernando Valley area and continued along various freeways until the suspect exited the 10 via the 4th Street ramp near Downtown.

Several LAPD vehicles followed the suspect along local streets with support from a police helicopter before the suspect was arrested

The chase is happening just as Santa Monica prepares for the start of its concert season on the Pier and follows a day of heavy police activity in town including a man in a tree stopping traffic on 5th street and a grisly suicide in a downtown parking structure
