Malibu seniors off to promising futures

The Malibu High School Class of 2024 graduated on June 11, as 102 seniors were sent off to their respective futures, including 85 percent of the class who are heading off to higher education.

From the class, 66 seniors are headed to a four-year college, 21 are going on a two-year track, and 15 have other plans including one senior going into the military. Nearly half of prospective college students are staying in-state, including three headed off to USC and 10 enrolling in Santa Monica College.

Out of state universities for the 2024 class include University of Colorado — Boulder, the University of Oregon and the University of Montana. Two graduates are going international, enrolling in the American University of Paris. In total, $51,000 in scholarship money was given out to the 2024 class.
