On August 31, at approximately 5:40 a.m. while on patrol, an officer conducted a traffic stop at the 1800 block of Lincoln Blvd for a traffic violation.

The driver provided the officer with an identification. After conducting a computed check, the officer determined the driver’s license was fraudulent. The driver was taken into custody without incident and transported to SMPD Jail.

Ernesto Iturralde Diaz, 44, from Porterville, was arrested for possession of a fraudulent identification. Bail was set at $20,000.
