On July 16 at approximately 4:15 p.m.

Officers responded to Jack in the Box located on the 2000 block of Lincoln Boulevard in response to a fight in progress. Upon officers arriving, they were told that the victim was sitting inside of the restaurant when he noticed a male walking away with the bicycle he left unsecured on the side of the entrance. The victim confronted the subject, later identified as Alberto Martinez, 25 years of age, when a verbal argument ensued. A physical confrontation followed the verbal confrontation and the victim was able to retrieve his bicycle as Martinez began to walk away. Information about the suspect's identity was broadcast and an officer patrolling the immediate area detained a man matching the description. Martinez was ordered to lie on the ground multiple times by officers, after about the fifth time he finally complied. The victim positively identified Martinez, yet he was hesitant of pursuing anything further, as he stated he was afraid of retaliation. Martinez was booked for robbery and resisting arrest. Bail was set at $50,000.
