A team of artists at 18th Street Arts Center launches its most ambitious exhibition ever this weekend, when “The Future of Nations” kicks off with “Patriot Acts” this Saturday. Inspired by Samuel Johnson’s words written in 1775 “Patriotism is the last refuge of a scoundrel,” Linda Pollack has curated an art exhibition that departs from recent manifestations of patriotism, inviting 11 artists to create new works about different constitutional issues for Patriot Acts. The works include film, sculpture, patterns, interviews and more.

The larger Future of Nations project aims to address many issues that will determine the future of this country.

Patriot Acts runs through March 28 at the 18th Street Arts center, located at 1639 18th St. For more information, call (310) 453-3711.
