The Montana Avenue Art Walk will transform Montana Avenue from 7th to 17th streets into an open-streets arts destination Saturday, Sept. 27, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
The free, all-ages event features more than 150 visual artists, live music presented by Pence Hathorn Silver – Luxury Property Group, free children's workshops by Paint+Lab, and a $20 wine garden hosted by Bottled Poetry. The festivities will take place among the avenue's independent boutiques and local restaurants.
"In recent years, we've watched Art Walk grow into a notable regional event—on par with long-standing shows like the Beverly Hills Art Show," said Jenny Rice, event producer for the Montana Avenue Merchants Association. "Artists are coming from across the region, and thousands of residents and art enthusiasts are filling the street."
Rice said the event demonstrates the community's support for open streets festivals and Santa Monica's commitment to the arts.
Event highlights include the Bottled Poetry Wine Garden featuring curated wine tastings, an art display and a live set by DJ MOZO. Live music performances throughout the day will include jazz, Latin, cover bands and DJ sets spanning from 7th to 17th streets.
Paint+Lab will offer free workshops for all ages, including acrylic lessons for children, abstract "adventure" stations and speed-portrait drawing.
The Montana Avenue Merchants Association presents the art walk with support from Art of Recovery, an initiative of the City of Santa Monica Cultural Affairs.
Event sponsors include the Santa Monica Chamber of Commerce, City of Santa Monica, Office of Sustainability and the Environment, Pence Hathorn Silver – Luxury Property Group, and Santa Monica Travel & Tourism.
